Behind the Music…Workshops & Insight Days
Workshops
Eamonn Dougan, Assistant Conductor of The Sixteen, and Sally Dunkley, a founder member of The
Sixteen and the researcher and editor of the music in this year’s Pilgrimage, will once again be
facilitating workshops for amateur singers. These will be held in the afternoon and will feature the
opportunity to experience some of the music in the concert programme at first-hand, by singing it
as well as by discussing the background to its composition.
The workshops, to be held in Blackburn, Edinburgh, London and St Albans, are aimed at singers of a
good standard who are, for example, capable of holding a line on their own. Music will be sent out
well in advance in order to facilitate individual preparation, you will be expected to come able to
perform this on the day.
70 places are available for each workshop.
Please note that in order to obtain a
reasonably balanced choral group, we ask
participants for some information about
their voice range, and may have to limit
numbers when each vocal quota is filled.
Book early to avoid disappointment!
Full details will be available from early
January 2008 from The Sixteen, Raine House,
Raine Street,Wapping, London E1W 3RJ.
