Choral Workshops
"I learnt more in one day than I have learnt in years of singing in choirs." - James, London 2012
Our annual workshop series returns in 2012 at a range of venues across the country. These workshops offer keen choral singers the opportunity to delve deeper into some of the Choral Pilgrimage 2012 repertoire. Workshops are led by two prominent members of The Sixteen; associate conductor Eamonn Dougan and singer and musicologist Sally Dunkley.
Workshops are limited to 70 singers and offer a range of vocal coaching including warm ups, breathing techniques, stylistic advice, tuning and vocal blend. Also offered is an insight into the composer and the historical context of the pieces. Singers should be confident in holding their own line and have some experience of singing in a choir before.
Music is sent in advance and participants are encouraged to learn the notes beforehand so finer details can be explored.

"A truly inspiring and thought provoking day, beautifully led by Eamonn and Sally.’'' - Bell, London 2012
"I really enjoyed the workshop last Saturday at St Albans and this is just to express my thanks. Eamonn and Sally were excellent - stimulating, interesting and encouraging. On Saturday morning I really didn't want to get out of bed, let alone drive from Cambridge to St Albans and I was tempted not to bother. By the end of Saturday afternoon I felt not only human again but that life is definitely worth living! Thanks are due to Victoria of course and to the physiological benefits of singing, but mainly to Eamonn and Sally - and to [the administration team] for organising it." - Lorna, St Albans, 2011
