"...a tiny soundbite of Heaven." The Times

Welcome to the official website of The Sixteen, Harry Christophers, and CORO.
This is another exciting season of concerts for The Sixteen - here are brief details of our most important upcoming events.
As Associate Artists of Southbank Centre, we will be presenting four concerts throughout the 2008/09 season. In October, the group perform a wide-ranging programme of music dedicated to the Virign Mary, taking the audience on a musical and spiritual journey charting the course of Marian music over five centuries. In December, we will present an evening of carols from the 15th and 16th centuries, and in March, an evening of music celebrating the British composers Henry Purcell and James MacMillan. In May, we will officially celebrate our 30th anniversary in a programme including Handel's Dixit Dominus. The Sixteen will also play an important part in Southbank Centre's new vocal series, International Voices.
We are also delighted to be returning to the Barbican in December with Handel's Messiah and will shortly be announcing our 2009 Choral Pilgrimage programme - do watch this sapce for details.
In the meantime keep an eye out for our new recordings on CORO. Streams of Tears is our latest release featuring music by Juan Gutiérrez de Padilla - one of the most important composers of the ‘New World’.
I look forward to seeing you at one of our forthcoming concerts very soon.
